A panoramic tour, not a guided visit
The private city tour is not a guided visit in the conventional sense. There is no microphone, no pre-recorded commentary, no obligation to step out at every monument. The driver-guide drives and comments in response to the group's questions, at their own pace.
The itinerary is designed to combine iconic landmarks with the most memorable photographic perspectives, avoiding the most congested axes and pedestrian zones that slow the route. Each journey is adjusted based on the departure time and the day's traffic conditions.
The essential landmarks covered
The Eiffel Tower and the Trocadéro generally form the first stop, for the open view over the Seine and the metal structure. The drive along the Champs-Élysées, past the Arc de Triomphe and the Place de la Concorde, conveys the scale of the Haussmannian perspectives that define western Paris.
The route heads up to Montmartre for the view over the Sacré-Coeur Basilica from the cobbled streets, then descends to the Marais for the historic private mansion façades of the 3rd and 4th arrondissements. Notre-Dame de Paris and the banks of the Seine typically complete the tour depending on time available.
The vehicle: 2025 Mercedes V-Class
The city tour takes place in a 2025 Mercedes V-Class, configured for 3 to 7 passengers with adjustable seats to facilitate viewing on both sides. The panoramic windows allow photographs from inside the vehicle without opening the windows.
For families with children, the rear seats allow comfortable seating throughout the journey. For adult groups who want to capture the route on camera, the interior space is generous enough to handle photography equipment without constraint.
Duration and available extensions
The standard duration is 2 to 2.5 hours. A photo stop at one or two specific points (Trocadéro, Montmartre) can be arranged according to the group's preferences. Each stop fits within the route without extending the total duration significantly.
For groups who want to explore a particular neighbourhood in greater depth (the Marais, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the Palais-Royal area), a 30-minute extension can be added to the booking. This should be specified at the time of booking.
How to book your city tour
The Paris city tour is booked online. The rate starts from €147 for the entire group (3 to 7 people), with no per-person supplement. Confirmation is sent within one hour. Departures are arranged from the address of your choice in Paris.
The best seasons and times for a city tour
Paris shows differently depending on the time of day and the season. In summer (June–August), morning departure times (9–11am) are most favourable: the light is soft, the monuments less crowded and traffic in the smart arrondissements remains fluid. After 2pm, traffic thickens around the tourist zones and the flat afternoon light reduces photographic quality.
In autumn and spring, late afternoon (4–6pm) offers warm light that enhances the Haussmannian façades and perspectives over the Seine. This is the preferred window for professional architectural photographers. Our driver-guide can adapt the departure time to fit your preferences and the constraints of your stay.
In winter, Paris is quieter and driving is significantly more fluid. The illuminated Eiffel Tower in the early evening (from 5:30pm in December) makes a particularly memorable itinerary stop. Twilight and evening city tours are available on request.
The city tour for clients arriving from the airport
For visitors arriving in Paris from CDG or Orly who wish to discover the city before checking into their hotel, the city tour can be integrated directly into the airport transfer. The chauffeur collects the group at the terminal exit and routes the journey through the main landmarks before dropping passengers at their final address.
This combined format (airport transfer + city tour) is available at the time of booking. It is particularly suited to families or groups who have a gap between their landing time and hotel check-in, and who prefer to use that time memorably rather than waiting in a lobby.
